Conferences

1. On the 12^th of December 2012, the Centre succeeded in organizing her 1^stPublic Lecture entitled: “Religion, Politics and The Economy in Nineteen Century Ilorin: Some Reflections”, delivered by Prof. H.O. Danmole, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos. The Lecture was published and presented on the 27^th of May 2013;
2. On the 26^th -29^th of May, 2013, the Centre also successfully hosted her 1^st Annual National Conference whose theme was: “Ilorin, History, Culture and Lessons of Peaceful Co-existence”, which was published on the 12^th of December 2013.
3. On the 22^nd -24^th of April 2014, the Centre recorded a successful hosting of her 2^nd National Conference whose theme was: “Religion and Language Development in West Africa: The Ilorin Factor”. However, when it was the time to publish the papers in 2015, the theme of the conference was: “Ilorin as a Beacon of Learning and Culture in West Africa”, and presented publicly on 17^th December 2015;
4. Collaboration with the Islamic Welfare Foundation (IWF) and the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in organizing an International Conference on Islam in Nigeria (COIN) at the University of Ilorin on 23rd -26th November 2014;
5. The Centre organized her 2^nd Public Lecture on the 11^th of December 2014, entitled: “Ilorin Human Resources and their Contributions to Sustainable Development in Nigeria”, delivered by Prof AbdulRasheed Na’Allah, Vice-Chancellor, Kwara State University, Malete. The lecture was published in 2015;
6. The 3^rd Annual Public Lecture of the Centre also came up on 17^th December 2015. The lecture was entitled: “The Story of an Autochthonous Scholarly Network: Ilorin and the Making of Modern ‘Ulama’a in Nigeria”, and delivered by Prof Amidu Sanni of Lagos State University, Ojoo, Lagos, which has been published;
7. The Centre organized her 3^rd National Conference on 2^nd -5^th May 2016 which was entitled: “The Socio-Economic Development of Ilorin Emirate Since the 20^th Century”. The papers presented are presently undergoing review before their publication and public presentation before the end of this year.
